Cannes 2024 Coverage

Over the years, I’ve had a tradition of publishing post-festival “round-up”s on this site. With Cannes 2024, I’m bucking that trend—not for lack of content, but because I’ve already written entirely too much!

This year, I was proud to contribute five articles to David Chen’s Decoding Everything newsletter, giving live updates on the fest. Despite being framed around individual red carpet events, each piece functions more like a miniature round-up: part travelogue, part running tally of titles to watch, part in-depth review. Churning these out while also trying to catch 3-4 premieres a day was absolute chaos, and I loved every minute of it. I hope you’ll give them a read:

  1. [CANNES 2024 DISPATCH – FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA]
  2. [CANNES 2024: FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA’S ‘MEGALOPOLIS’ IS A BEWILDERING MESS]
  3. [CANNES 2024: ‘HORIZON: AN AMERICAN SAGA – CHAPTER 1’ IS BARELY A MOVIE]
  4. [CANNES 2024: SEAN BAKER’S ‘ANORA’ IS ONE OF THE BEST FILMS OF THE YEAR]
  5. [CANNES 2024: THE PRIZEWINNERS YOU’LL BE HEARING ABOUT FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR]
